3D printable clamshells created using the Next Engine 3D scanner.
Project Details
These models were created using the NextEngine 3D scanner. The scanner has the ability to capture high surface detail and create a parametric digital model in near perfect scale to the original object. Each of these models are the result of 3 separate 3D scans that were overlaid to generate a seamless surface mesh. The actual file size of each model is quite large compared to other typical models due to the immense amount of surface detail captured by the scanner.
The clamshells that we scanned were provided by Heather Patterson, Instructional Laboratory Collaborator in UAB's Department of Biology.
